The Aim of the B.Sc. in Medical Radiography and Imaging Technology program is to furnish with the highest Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) accredited academic process via formal moralising and state-of-the-art clinical ventures that will render qualified, patient-focused, understanding, critical thinkers Medical Radiography and Imaging technologist for the community who are engaged in lifelong learning. The graduates of the program are prepared to apply for the Level of Radiation Safety Officer (RSO) as per AERB norms. 

The objectives of the program are to: 

1. Provide the profession and community with trained qualified technologists
2. Provide education with a comprehensive program that promotes problem-solving, critical thinking and communication skills in the clinical environment 
3. Students will show quality patient care aptitudes including professionalism and Ethical conduct as defined in the code of ethics 
4. Graduate students with distinctive skills necessary to be competent entry-level

Anticipations from the future graduate in delivering patient care. 

1. One Should be able to undertake Mammography, CT scan and MRI procedures independently.
2. Assist in specialised radiological procedures. 
3. Able to do the image processing. 
4. One Should be able to handle all radiological and imaging equipment independently. 
5. Should ensure radiation protection and quality assurance 

Eligibility for admission:

One should have passed the Higher Secondary(10+2)or equivalent examination recognized by any Indian University or a duly constituted Board with passing marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology.

OR

A Diploma in Medical Radiography and Imaging Technology after completing 10+2 or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in physics chemistry and biology provided the candidate has passed in each subject separately. 

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

  • Beginning with the fundamentals of tomographic reconstruction, this representation is followed by one-hour discussions of the medical imaging modalities of X-ray, CT, positron emission mammography (PET), and nuclear magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
  • The class begins with a quick overview of the various technologies used to obtain medical images.
  • Basic regulations of commonly used techniques, instrument design, performance criteria, and clinical applications. 
  • Advantages and disadvantages of commonly used techniques
