 Impact of Diagnostic Radiography Course

In the world of Radiology Technology era Radiography stands as a standard form of medical imaging technique that makes use of x-ray in creation of internal body images commonly for the sole purpose of diagnosis and to monitor fractured bone conditions, tumors condition and pneumonia etc. To learn the principles, working, imaging and all the science and labor behind radiography Ganesh Paramedical College offers courses like certificate, diploma, degree and post graduate courses for diagnostic radiography programs.
Radiography being widely used imaging techniques due to its relatively low cost and speed and effectiveness in evaluation and visualizing of internal structures, also involves exposure to harmful radiation commonly known as ionizing radiation hence proper safety measures need to be taken for the safety of staff, patients and the radiographer himself/herself.
Diagnostic Radiography involves the usage of X-rays and encompasses varieties of imaging machines and techniques like CT scan, MRI and Nuclear Medicine Imaging. At Ganesh Paramedical College, under Radiography course programs students will learn how to handle imaging modalities to accurately produce image acquisition and interpretation encompassing a variety of imaging modalities including X-ray, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine imaging as well.
Specialized healthcare workers and professionals under the diagnostic radiography or medical imaging technology umbrella are called radiology technologists or radiographers majorly serving as healthcare providers. The images produced are then interpreted by Radiologists who aid in diagnostic evaluation and monitoring and managing patient health conditions. Diagnostic radiography performs a vital role in modern medicine through providing images that are detailed of the internal structures of the human body and helping in the diagnosis and betterment of patient overall health conditions.
In Ganesh Paramedical College, under the Diagnostic Radiography program which is more accurately preferred as Radiology and Imaging Technology, students must undergo approximately 1200 hours of CPE which stands for Clinical Practice Education or more favorably referred to as practical training. This is to ensure that our students are prepared to apply their theoretical knowledge in the imaging modalities under supervision, which will build their confidence in the real world.

Radiography course work offered in Ganesh Paramedical College is a perfect blend of Science, Technology and Patient care where a student will find development in the appreciation and knowledge of anatomy, physiology as well as pathology while building an understanding in the physics of radiological science. The learning here at Ganesh Paramedical College is superiorly hands-on where the students will get the full opportunity to master the imaging equipment, patient care skills and operate the modalities perfectly.
Expectations one can manifest under diagnostic radiography program:

  • One can work in hospital departments with operating theater, emergency care and outpatients, wards, and mobile portable X-ray units.
  •  Availability of jobs in hospitals and diagnostic set ups, and private clinics.
  • Jobs in diagnostic radiography are demanding in terms of physical as well as mental as it can involve a lot of standing as well as lifting machines and patients both.
  • One can expect to occasionally travel for conference or training purposes events.
  • Research establishments, demonstrators, education are also some areas of interest one can explore.
  • Application specialist for equipment manufacturer who specializes in providing training and support for new equipment installed in hospitals and diagnostic centers or clinics.

Across the coursework program in Radiography Imaging Technology in Ganesh Paramedical College students will have the opportunity to rotate among the different variety of imaging modalities that includes CT scan of 128 slice, MRI 1.5T, MRI 3T, DEXA, Nuclear Medicine Imaging, OPG, mammography, digital x-ray both computed radiography and direct digital radiography, PET CT, PFT, ECG, Uroflowmetry, special procedures etc.
