How to do a Master's in Radiology and Imaging Technology?

MSc in Radiography and Imaging Technology is a 2-year Post-graduate program. This course is designed for the students to learn about Radiography and Imaging techniques, and choose it as their career and serve to give their best in Conventional and modern radiographic equipment as it also requires intensive care while handling and it takes time to gain experience in these equipment.

Eligibility criteria for the course: 

• Candidates are eligible to apply for the MSc in Radiology Imaging Technology after the completion of Graduation with a minimum of 50% marks in relevant subjects. 
• The candidate has to be a graduate of any Science subject.
• These criteria may also vary in Institutes and universities.

Syllabus 

COURSE DISTRIBUTION:

The Course is divided into two parts.

Part - I: 

The candidates are provided best theoretical training in the subjects of:

• Management of Radiology and Imaging Department.
• Modern Radiological and Imaging Equipment and Techniques.
• Advanced Physic of Radiology and Imaging.

Practical training is given about the radiological equipment and of the radiographic techniques of specialised cases.

Part - II 

Theoretical training is provided in the following subjects:

• Quality Assurance and Quality Control in Radiology and Imaging Department.
• Newer Imaging Modalities and Intervention Radiological Techniques.
• Radiation Safety and Protection with Radiological Procedures.

Practical training is imparted in the specialised radiological and imaging procedures. 

• Their may be some changes in syllabus in various universities or institutions
   

Job Opportunities : 

•  Radiology Technician: He conducts diagnostic imaging examinations such as X-rays, CT(computed tomography) and MRI(Magnetic Resonance Imaging ) scans under the guidance of a Radiologist.
•  Radiologist: Doctors who are specialized in diagnosing and treating injuries and diseases using medical imaging (radiology) procedures like X-ray, CT Scan PET scan and, MRI etc.
•  Radiology Assistant: He assists Radiologists and helps him while creating the Images and helps while performing tasks on other equipment and positioning patients.
•  Radiology Technologist/Radiographer: One who examines and creates images of specific body parts using X-rays on patients.
•  Radiology Nurse: The medical specialty who uses medical equipment for imaging, to diagnose diseases and guide their treatment and helps Doctors in treatment.
• Ultrasound Technician / Diagnostic Medical Sonographer: sonographer uses imaging equipment and soundwaves to click images of different body parts, known as ultrasounds.
•  MRI Technician: MRI technologists operate scanners that take images of patients' bodies to assist with diagnostic testing which is helpful for their treatment.
•  CT Technician: CT technologists operate computed tomography machines that take images of patients bodies to assist with diagnostic testing which is helpful for their treatment.
• Educator: One may also become educator after his master at various institutions.
