Angiography and Intervention Information in Radiology Tech Programs

What is a Radiology Tech Program?

Radiology Tech Program refers to the course programs of Radiology and Imaging Technology. The course program of various divisions is available in Ganesh Paramedical College with different duration each respectively.  There are many subjects covered under the Radiology and Imaging Technology program starting with Anatomy, Physiology, Physics behind Radiation and so much more. After the completion of the Radiology course under the Paramedical structure, one can become an X-ray Technician, Radiographer, CT technologist/MRI technologist, known as CT technician, MRI technician, and radiology technician.

The salary packages of Radiology program under Paramedical structure are also very attractive as it’s a very fulfilling and rewarding career. Angiography comes under interventional radiology which is a subject taught in the Radiology Tech program. Angiography is also called as arteriography which is a test to evaluate the vascular health of veins and arteries. The blood vessels throughout the body that involves cerebral or brain, neck or carotid, abdomen, kidneys, upper extremities and lower extremities can be studied in angiography studies. Angiography can be done through CT and MR imaging modalities that are a major part of the Radiology course program under the Paramedical department.

The duration of Radiology and Imaging Technology varies with different programs such as CRIT for one year, although in this program distinct subject contents like angiography and interventional radiology are not included in the one-year duration course. Another program provided by Ganesh Paramedical College is DRIT also known as Diploma in Radiology and Imaging Technology where a basic introduction of angiography and interventional radiology is included. The duration of the program DRIT is two years. Then comes a BRIT or bachelor of science in Radiology and Imaging Technology where a thorough learning and practices of angiography scan under interventional radiology is included which is subjected to course work duration of three years. There’s a further extension of the Radiology Tech program course under Paramedical jurisdiction which is PG/Post Graduate or Master of Science in Radiology and Imaging Technology which is of two years eligible only after the completion of bachelor’s degree in the relevant course. For the individuals who want to be involved in Research studies and earn the doctorate level of recognition, they can further extend their scholastic journey in PHD. under Radiology and Imaging Technology.

Key steps to learn or ace in angiography under the Medical Imaging Technology course is by learning about the anatomy, physiology, and pathology of the human body thoroughly which will be covered during the first and second years of the diploma and bachelor’s course program at Ganesh Paramedical College Delhi. Significantly, the arteries and veins or simply the vasculature of the whole body from head to toe must be learnt prominently, because angiography involves blood vessel studies.

Here are a few scopes of practice under the Radiology and Imaging Technology Program at Ganesh Paramedical College:

  • Students in our care will be taught how to assess, evaluate, and perform procedures with our technologically advanced machines.
  • Students will attend to patients' needs during all imaging procedures along with preparing and positioning the patients.
  • The students will be guided and trained with up-to-date knowledge maintenance of safety practices and also protection against harmful radiation.
  • Students will be taught to perform procedures like x-rays, CT scans, MRI etc. independently.
  • Important tasks such as preparation, administration of medicines and documentation all related in accordance with regulatory and institutional policy if the state shall all be taught in utmost priority in Ganesh Paramedical College

In addition to pieces of training and experience, radiology technologists can upgrade and move into roles of manager that supervises shifts in hospitals referred to as shift supervisor and also chief radiologic technologist. Other fascinating options include an education position where one can become a clinical instructor and program director etc.
